Pen

Its mightier than the sword.

     The present day is a testament that throughout the world pens are popular and functional compared to swords which now can only be found on the display rack. Kidding aside, the pen is a very important part of  our edc because it expresses our thought into written words.

     The pen together with a notebook is a good addition to your edc knowing that anytime an idea or concept hits you you can always jot it down instantly before it slips away.

     How many times have you experienced when you needed a pen either to sign or fill up a document or to take down a note but unfortunately no one has it. Maybe a one in a million opportunity that slipped away just because there was no pen. It could have been avoided. A pen weighs about nothing but its usefulness measures about a ton. 

     In the recent years there has been a boom in the development for a more multi-functional pen. From tactical to survival point of view, many designs with different materials were developed and manufactured. Tactical pens are pens that doubles as self-defense weapon, much like a kubaton. It is used as an impact tool in which the purpose is either to puncture or inflict pain to an aggressive attacker by surprise. The hardened end can also work as a glass breaker during emergency situations. On some other designs a whistle, pen knife, pen light, and a fire starter were also integrated. While these added features will most likely be patronized by what is now known as preppers and survivalist, a regular person can still reap the benefits of making it part of his edc items. After all even if you don't use all the added features everyday you can still always use it as a pen.
